Agencies: Contact us about becoming a USC volunteer site.

USC volunteers either hold a Bachelor’s degree or are over 21 years of age. A full-time USC volunteer costs a placement agency $11,433 per year (paid monthly in payments of $952.75). Volunteers work in shelters, after-school programs, food pantries and many other community non-profits. We have long-time relationships with many agencies, but new ones join our list of possible placements each year. Due to the uncertainties of volunteer recruitment, we cannot guarantee that you will get a USC volunteer each year, but we would love to add you to our network. If you are interested in a USC volunteer, contact us.

USC Speakers Bureau

Invite a USC volunteer to speak with your confirmation class, youth group, adult forum or Sunday School class! They will invite you to partner in service and ministry in Denver with the Lutheran Servant Event, Urban Plunges, and The USC Palm Sunday Prayer Walk or All Saints Open House. USC volunteers are available to share their gifts and enthusiasm for Christian service and mission with your congregation TODAY! Each volunteer will speak about their year’s experience with USC, share about their agency placement and their experience of putting faith into action. Contact the USC office to schedule your speakers, great for Lenten or Advent reflections.

Lutheran World Relief Donations-Drop off site

The Urban Servant Corps Ogden House serves as a drop-off point for Lutheran World Relief donations (such as quilts, health kits, and school kits) from area churches. Please call the USC office at 303-894-0076 to schedule a drop-off time.

  • All donations must be boxed, labeled and ready to load into a semi truck. We cannot accept loose quilts or quilts in bags.
  • Please do not just drop in with your drop off! We may not be there to receive it.
  • For information from LWR about what you can donate, and how to package it, visit their website here.
  • Call us if you want to help load the truck when our donation room is full! We send a truck approximately every 18 months.

The Urban Servant Corps seeks to fulfill Christ's mission of love demonstrated through action by working for peace with justice,
advocating for and with oppressed persons, and sharing our power and abundance with those most in need.
